Bought this as a Christmas present for my wife. She absolutely loves it. After a lot of reviewing before purchasing, I decided that the canon t3 was the perfect camera for her. With everything included, this is really a great deal for someone just starting in the slr range of cameras. The camera itself is top notch. In this price range it is in my opinion the best. Very simple to use on auto, or you can get as complicated as you want with all the different settings. Everything arrived neatly packaged and in perfect condition. I was shocked to see it setting at my house in three days after ordering. So i highly recommend this purchase along with this seller!

I own the Olympus 11-22mm and the 18 to 180 mm and found this to be an great addition. It is quick to focus, a bit more responsive than my former carry aound lens (18-180) and not too bulky to keep on for most of the day. A bit pricey but the results in my photos have been noticeable. It is now my everyday lens. I also have the Olympus 50 to 200mm so have most of my needs covered in the two lenses. Will probably sell the 11-22mm but it is a real quality lens as well

I bought this lens based on reviews seen here and my overall satisfaction with the Olympus brand. Out of the box revealed a high quality made in Japan (not China)lens. The zoom ring is a little tighter than I prefer but still perfectly acceptable.
My heart sank when my E300 wouldn't start after attaching the lens. After some frantic phone calls I learned that I had to update the camera's firmware. The Olympus website is very clear on the procedure and the whole process took less than 15 minutes. The first thing I noticed that this lens is one heavy hunk of glass. At 21.2 ounces compared to 10.9 ounces for the 14-45 kit lens, the extra weight does tend to unbalance the camera. The second thing I noticed was it focused noticably faster than the 14-45. Even in dim light I was surprised how quickly the lens popped into focus. The 12-60 zoom range is the ideal range for me and I truly appreciate the 12mm setting for those cramped quarters situations. Performance is exemplary. No noticeable linear or color distortion nor dark corners at any setting. This is the perfect lens to leave on your camera. One final bit of nitpicking; the velvet "sock" supplied as a lens case provides minimal, if any, protection. A soft leather pouch would be more appropriate for a $900 lens.

This is an impressive lens, fast, wide, fairly long, and close focus abilities. I also own the 14-54mm F2.8-3.5, which had been my walk around lens until this one arrived. The 12-60mm is even sharper than then 14-54mm, which is not slouch.
The 2mm (4mm equivalent) difference on the wide end is VERY noticeable, especially if you are photographing indoors. The 6mm (12mm equivalent) is also noticeable and useful but not as extreme.
If you are used to the 14-54mm you find the 12-60mm very easy to get used to. It is a little bit larger, and slightly heavier but not noticeable after 30 minutes. Personally I rarely had my lens hood on when using the 14-54mm, with the 12-60mm it is on most of the time. This is due to the larger wide end which makes it easier to catch reflections and light flares.
The focus rings on the 12-60mm SWD and any new SWD lenses will feel strange compared to non SWD lenses. This is due to the other lenses being focus by wire, the SWD's have a mechanical connection. This means two things.
1. The focus ring is stiffer than the electronic versions.
2. Also with SWD lenses there is full time focus override. This IMHO makes it easier. If you happen to have the camera on the wrong setting with non SWD lenses at a critical moment, you can miss the shot.
The extra width, length, maximum magnification (.56X 35mm equivalent), weather sealing and VERY fast focusing speed make this an outstanding lens. I find myself changing lenses much less often due to this lenses versatility. I am being able to leave two other lenses (11-22mm & 50mm Macro) at home while hiking, which more than makes up for the slight weight and size increase from the 14-54mm. Also for those who don't have those lenses yet, it is cheaper as well.

Is my first SLR cam, what can I say?
This bundle kit is a good way to start.

The camera is amazing, has many features for professional photography.
The lenses are perfect to a starter user.

The pack is complete. In addition I bought faster SD cards and a extra batteries and Lowe Pro back pack (which I recommend for this cam)

The camera is beautiful, weighs very little, but is very ergonomic.

The lenses are very good, work well.

The only downside is the battery life. It downloads very fast when the LCD is on. For long sessions have to close the screen.

Using the remote control and swivel screen are wonderful!

Extensive Review By Photography Newbie, August 17, 2011

This review is aimed at people who are new to photography, as I am in the same boat. There are much more thorough reviews on Amazon for people who are already serious photographers.

General Impression:
Wonderful camera - gives you control of parameters (such as f/stop, ISO, shutter speed) when you want to play with them or get creative and will auto-select them when you just want to take pictures. This was important to me as I am still learning to adjust them to my liking but don't want to miss out on pictures because I'm fumbling around with buttons.

Construction/Feel:
After going to Best Buy to physically hold the Canon T3i and Nikon d5100, I immediately decided on the Nikon. It felt much better in my hands and just looked better in general. Both were fairly light which is nice but also means they are made from quite a bit of plastic - not a problem though as this keeps the price down and I don't drop things.

Controls:
I have been pleased with the placement of the physical buttons on the camera as well as the menus. I mainly shoot in the A, S, and M modes and the little wheel you turn to adjust the shutter speed/aperture is right where your thumb falls. If you're in M mode, there is an aperture button to hold down just behind the shutter button which is also easy to reach with the camera up to your eye. Lastly, the Fn button can be programmed to control the ISO level so you can hold it down while spinning the wheel to change that without putting the camera down. I have heard people complain that the Live View switch is annoying to get to but have found it intuitive.
There are a few controls that I wish were changeable without having to dig through a menu though. For instance, to change the focus mode from area to single point requires you to have the LCD screen turned around, then press the I button, then scroll around to change it. This is the case for a few other things like metering, shutter mode, etc. I can't really complain, though, because those are features that go on a serious photographer's camera that costs about twice as much as this model.

Auto Focus:
The 11-point AF on this camera has been a dream to use. I almost always keep the camera set to single point servo autofocus so I can select the point I want it to focus to. As long as you have some contrast, it is very quick and accurate to focus. This camera does not have a build in focus motor which means the lens must have it built in. As a result, older lenses or those build for the professional Nikons may not allow for autofocus. This hasn't been a big issues as most of the lenses I would want already have the motor built in, and if they don't, people survived for a long time manually focusing - it probably builds character. I was torn between getting the Nikon 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5G ED AF-S DX Nikkor Wide-Angle Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Camerasand Tokina AT-X116PRDXN AT-X PRO DX 11-16mm Ultra-wide Angle Lens for Nikonand ended up sticking with the Tokina even though it would not autofocus on this camera. I haven't had any issues with focusing manually with it as the ultra-wide angles are easy to focus anyway.

Noise:
A lot of the reviews I read before purchasing this camera talked about how well it shot in low light - I would have to agree. Looking at pictures from my old point and shoot at ISO 800 have horrible noise while I can shoot this at 1600 without any, and can go up to 3200 with only minimal touch ups in Lightroom needed. This has to be the single biggest advantage of digital over film - being able to change ISO on the fly and still being able to get great pictures at ISO 3200 is wonderful.

Image Quality:
I won't offer too many opinions in this section, but I have not seen anything but great quality in the RAW pictures I've taken. Basically I understand that if a picture doesn't come out right, the fault lies with me and not the camera. The camera is capable of much better pictures than I am capable of taking. When I do everything right (which is becoming a little more frequent) I am amazed of the result. Great colors, great contrast, low noise, etc.

Battery Life:
I purchased an extra battery before I went on a few business trips just in case, but ended up never being close to needing it. The battery just lasts and lasts and never seems to drain. For instance, last weekend I took 381 shots (some using live view) and the battery meter was still at 75%. No complaints in this department.

Very compact and easy to carry around. Short throw so it can be close to screen.

Reads powerpoint, jpg's, nad pdf's from a USB drive which is very nice. Only negative is that the USB access is a little sluggish and there is a bit of a delay moving slide to slide. If the unit could cache the next slide or have a faster USB reader design that would make this a 5 star easily.

This is a replacement for an Infocus projector. I had replaced the lamps three times in 7 years and finally when the color wheel broke I knew we had to replace the projector. I had figured that I had already put $800 in lamps and the repair would be in excess of $400. Because we have a surround sound system with 8 speakers, HD receiver and a 9 foot screen we were vested.

I researched projectors and I was beginning to think that I would have to pay at least $1200 or more for what I wanted and also figured on replacing the lamp every 2 years.
It all started when I came across some of the new micro projectors with LED bulbs. I was intrigued with the lamp life, but concerned with picture quality when you are watching HD video on a 9 foot screen. That led me to LG and I read the reviews on Amazon and watched actual video from buyers. I stepped up to this model because of features.
It was out of the box and a few minutes to connect and read the instructions and we were ready. By the way let me say it is so simple and the settings and menus are easy to use.

We were floored with the picture quality. On this model you have preset options to improve picture quality. I have never been able to watch a movie with any lights on until now. If you set it to Vivid or even standard you can watch during the day with only the blinds closed and a few lights on and the picture is clear. I used the cinema mode at night when we have lights out for movies. Vivid is too much when the lights are out, but perfect in the day and a well lit room. The colors are clear. The reds are eye popping.
I must admit I had my doubts because of the size and the price. It was too hard to resist though and I am so happy I did not.
A thumbs up to LG for making a projector of this size with this kind of quality and ease of use so affordable. I paid $560 on Amazon and I think it is the smartest purchase I have ever made.
Other things to note is the size, how cool it stays, how quiet it is during operation, and the fact that you can pack it away in the carry case it comes with and take it with you. Your projector can be used daily and not just for those special movie viewings. The lamp life alone sells this. Think about how much money you will save. I could go on and since we just got it there are many features we have yet to try.
